Old Stone Fort Troop Outing

W

hen you hear “Old Stone Fort”, do you think of an old fort made of stone?  We learned on this outing that “Old Stone Fort” refers to the Woodland Indians’ ceremonial grounds.  We also enjoyed fishing and hiking.

Dan Beard District Gathering

F

riday, April 8, 2005, through Sunday, April 10, 2005, the spring Dan Beard District Gathering will take place at Boxwell’s Camp Stahlman.  Thirteen of Troop 227’s finest will attend to showcase their knowledge and skills as they compete with other troops from the Dan Beard District.  Last year Troop 227 brought home five ribbons from the competition.  How many will they earn this year?

 

Top District Popcorn Seller

O

nce again this year, Will, from Troop 227 was the top popcorn seller in the Dan Beard District.  Congratulations, Will!

 

Upcoming Troop Events

 

  • Apr. 4 – Troop meeting, 6:30 PM.  Class A uniforms.
  • Apr. 8-10 – Troup Outing. Spring District Gathering at Boxwell.  $10 per person, $15 per family.  Deadline to pay is Apr 4 troop meeting.
  • Apr. 11 – Troop meeting, 6:30 PM.
  • Apr. 14 – Frist Center entire family outing.  Citizenship in the World and Art MBs.
  • Apr. 18 – Troop meeting.  6:30 PM.
  • April 25 – PLC,  Shoney’s in Brentwood, 7:00 PM.

 

Future Dates

·        May 14-16 – Canoe trip on Narrows of the Harpeth.

·        May 28 – Flag planting.  Nashville National Cemetery.

·        June 3-5 – OA Spring Ordeal.

·        June 26 July 1 – Boxwell Summer Camp.
