Fall Creek Falls

rom March 24, through March 26, 2006, Troop 227 hiked the lower loop at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Nine Boy Scouts and five Scouters hiked a total of fifteen miles with 25-40 lb. backpacks.

ertainly, one of the most memorable parts of this trip was THE GORGE. Toward the end of the day on Saturday, we hiked down 700 feet into the gorge and 800 feet up the other side. Then we hiked another two miles to our campsite along the trail.

his was a very challenging trip both for the Scouts and Scouters. Congratulations on quite an achievement!

Working at the Car Wash

n March 18, 2006, Troop 227 conducted a spring time fundraiser. McDonald’s restaurant on the corner of Nolensville Road and Old Hickory Boulevard graciously hosted this event. A total of $313 was raised by the troop. Most of this money will help pay for summer camp expenses.

· Apr. 28-30 – Troop Outing. Dan Beard Spring District Camporee. OA Call Out Ceremony. $15 per scout. $25 per family. (Saturday only: $10 per scout. $15 per family.) Deadline to sign up is April 10, 2006.

· Apr. 30 – Eagle Scout Recognition Reception.

· May – 19-20 – Hiawassee white water rafting.

· June 25-30 – Summer Camp. Boxwell.
