Welcome New Scout

T

roop 227 welcomes its newest Scout Alec.  Let’s all encourage this fine young man as he journeys toward becoming an Eagle Scout.

Fort Knox Outing

T

oward the end of July, the trop went to Fort Knox, KY.  On the first day, we toured the Patton Museum where we saw many tanks, helicopters, and guns.  Then we briefly toured the Armored Unit Memorial Park.

T

he next day we went on a tour of Fort Knox.  After a one hour briefing, we attended a Warrior Leader graduation ceremony.  Then we toured the fire station at the airfield.  Next we were given an excellent private tour by an Apache helicopter pilot which included the weather station, airfield tower, and getting to climb on some Apache helicopters!  After the tour we ate lunch in the Kouma dining center.  After lunch we went bowling.  Later in the day we went on a hike at Bridges to the Past, then we went to see the Lincoln Heritage House.

O

n our last day we went to the French Shooting Club at Fort Knox where we shot shoguns at traps and pistols at targets.  Then we broke camp and returned home.  What a fun trip!  Sorry if you missed it.
