Mammoth Cave

D

uring the month of November, Troop 227 spelunked through Mammoth Cave whose name is based on its mammoth size, 365 miles discovered and documented so far.   We enjoyed seeing the top

side (Mammoth Dome Sink) of a large sinkhole and the bottom of that same sinkhole (Bottomless Pit).  We also saw a few bats in hibernation.  Lastly, we explored the River Styx where the underground river flowed out of the cave above ground and into the Green River.
