Lost Sea

T

roop 227 found the Lost Sea in early January, well what was left of it anyway.  Given the drought this past summer, the underground lake known as Lost Sea has dropped thirty feet and is still dropping.  However, that did not stop our troop from having an excellent experience exploring the caverns on the commercial tour and a series of wild tours.  Impromptu events like King of the Hill and a mud wrestling tournament added to the excitement.  The mud clung to us like it was trying to escape!

W

hat is Troop Leader Training (TLT)?  TLT is the leadership training given primarily by the Scoutmaster and the Senior Patrol Leader to all the youth leaders in their troop.

W

hat is Junior Leader Training (JLT)?  JLT is a training conference conducted by the Scoutmaster and Senior Patrol Leader.  Its purpose is to reinforce the patrol method and to allow members of the Patrol Leaders Council to set goals for themselves, their patrols, and their troop.  Hopefully, everyone can attend our troop’s very important leadership training session on February 22 and 23.

February is Merit Badge Catch Up Month
