Summer Camp Synopsis

I

t is unbelievable that summer camp week is already over.  Troop 227 took eleven scouts and four adult leaders to camp this year.  One or more scouts earned or almost completed the following merit badges while at camp:

  • Archery
  • Cycling
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Environmental Science
  • Fishing
  • Geology
  • Indian Lore
  • Leatherwork
  • Rifle Shooting
  • Shotgun Shooting
  • Space Exploration
  • Swimming
  • Wilderness Survival
  • Woodcarving

I

n addition to these fine accomplishments, five scouts (Paden, Caleb, Armando, Elyar and William) survived the Wilderness Survival overnight campout.  Also, three scouts and one adult leader (Bryan, Will, Christopher, and Truman Bean) successfully completed the mile swim in Old Hickory Lake.

C

ongratulations to everyone for their accomplishments at summer camp.  It was a highly productive and fun week.
