Boxwell Summer Camp

O

n June 26-30, 2006, eleven Scouts and four adult leaders from Troop 227 attended summer camp at Boxwell Reservation.

O

ne or more scouts earned or almost completed the following merit badges while at camp:

n addition to these fine accomplishments, Preston survived the Wilderness Survival overnight campout.  Also, four scouts (Bryan, Landry, Justin, and Will) successfully completed the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (COPE).

ongratulations to everyone for their accomplishments at summer camp.  It was a highly productive and fun week.

Fishing Trip to Reelfoot Lake

P

lan now to attend Troop 227’s fishing trip to Reelfoot Lake in the northwest corner of Tennessee on July 28-29, 2006.  We also plan to ride a ferry across the Mississippi River.

Upcoming Troop Events

·        July 3 – Troop meeting, 6:30 PM.  Class B uniform.

·        July 10 – Troop meeting, 6:30 PM.  Deadline to sign up and pay for Reelfoot Lake Outing.

·        July 17 – NO troop meeting.  (Crieve Hall church camp)

·        July 24 – Troop meeting, 6:30 PM.

·        July 28-29 – Troop Outing.  Reelfoot Lake Fishing Trip.  $15 per person, $25 per family.  Deadline to sign up and pay is July 10 troop meeting.

·        July 31 - PLC.  Shoney’s in Brentwood. 7:00 PM.

 

Future Dates

·        Aug. 25-26 – Wilderness Survival Campout.

·        Sep. 22-24 – Shiloh Troop Outing.

·        Oct. 13-15 – MTC Fall Jamboree.
