Camp Stahlman – Boxwell Reservation
On June 27th, Troop 227 made the annual pilgrimage up Hwy 109 for a fun filled week at Boxwell Reservation. On Sunday afternoon, the troop was eager to reclaim their favorite tent sites along the shores of Old Hickory Lake at Camp Stahlman. With near record heat the previous week, the troop wanted to be first in line to receive the first breeze coming off the water. Tuesday night, a cold front moved in, bringing a steady air conditioned wind through our tents.
During the week, the majority of scouts were enrolled in Environmental Science and Swimming merit badge classes, while others participated in Shotgun, Motorboating, Auto Mechanics, Fishing, and Wood Carving classes.

This year our scouts were very fortunate to share the camp site with a large troop from Bartlett, TN. The men and boys of this troop were great role models for us and others throughout the camp. At the end of the week, they invited us to join them for dutch oven cobbler and ice cream around the campfire. Needless to say, it was great to make new friends through the brotherhood of Scouting!
