Narrows of the Harpeth Canoe Trip

O

n May 19-20, 2006, Troop 227 and several guests canoed approximately 11 miles on the Harpeth River on the section known as Narrows of the Harpeth.  Once upon a time Boxwell was located there.

C

anoes were flipping over like it was going out of style.  In some cases, they even flipped over accidentally.  For some, this was their first-ever time to go canoeing.  A good time was had by all.

Flag Planting

O

n May 27, 2006, Troop 227 Scouts and their families served together to help honor America’s fallen service men and women.  They met early that morning and planted United States of America flags on all of the gravesites at the Nashville National Cemetery.  We congratulate this group on a job well done.

Boxwell Summer Camp

A

sk any Boy Scout what is their favorite thing about Scouting and nine out of ten will tell you they love summer camp.  It is difficult to put into a few words why summer camp is so much fun.  You really need to try it for yourself to understand.

T

his will be the fourth year in a row Troop 227 has attended summer camp at Boxwell.  Many rank advancements and merit badges will be earned, but better than that, these young men will grow another giant step toward becoming the kind of men we all want to see them become.  They will develop good character, strong values, and excellent leadership.
