Junior Leader Training

n February 11,
2006, eleven Boy Scouts from Troop 227 successfully completed BSA Junior Leader
Training, some for the second time. This
leadership training program is an important element in the overall Boy Scouts
of America program.

A |
s a part of the
training program, the troop conducted two service projects. One group cleaned all of the chalkboards and
whiteboards in the church building.
Another group repaired the tables in the fellowship area. We were joined in this service project by
Webelos Scout Luke who is working on the Joyful Servant religious award.
Special Recognition

n February 28,
2006, Troop 227 received special recognition at the annual BSA Patron’s
Luncheon. Troop 227 was one of two
troops recognized from the Middle Tennessee Council as exemplary troops who
ably responded to the call for assistance after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
struck the
|

n hand to
represent Troop 227 were some of the Scouts and Scouters who went to

Troop 227 for being honored in this way.
