Summer Camp Preview

B

oy Scout Summer Camp will be here soon.  Many fun times and memories await those who attend.  We hope all of the scouts in our troop will attend summer camp.  Not only will you work on rank advancements and/or merit badges, you will also have opportunities to engage in many other fun activities like swimming or storytelling as well as relax by or fish in Old Hickory Lake.  More details are available on the MTC website:  http://www.mtcbsa.org/

 

 

Spotlight on a Scout

n this and successive issues we will place a spotlight on one of our Boy Scouts in Troop 227 to help everyone learn more about him.  This month our spotlight is on:

Upcoming Troop Events

  • May 3 – Troop Meeting, 6:30 PM.  Class A Uniforms.
  • May 8 – Service Project at Crieve Hall, 8AM - Noon
  • May 10 – Troop Meeting, 6:30 PM.
    •  Planning for May 15-16 campout.  Cost is $20 per scout, $30 per family. Deadline to sign up and pay.
    • Boards of Review for advancement.
  • May 15 16 – Campout.  1 night, Grimes Canoe Base.
  • May 17 – Troop Meeting, 6:30 PM.  Deadline to pay for summer camp ($130 minus scout account balance)

 

Future Dates/Deadlines

  • June 7 – deadline to submit BSA health forms for summer camp.
  • June 19 – Day outing, TBD.
  • June 27 – July 2 – Summer Resident Camp Week at Boxwell.
  • August 6 – 8 – Campout, 2 nights, TBD.
