elcome to the
first edition of the Troop 227 Newsletter
where until now No News has been Good News. Troop 227 has grown by
leaps and bounds since assuming new leadership in fall 2002. We welcome Chad Loftis, our newest
scout. We are at fourteen scouts and
counting. All of these young men are
moving along the path of the Scout, growing and developing into tomorrow’s
leaders.

ould you invest in
a private education for your child and then tell them they are on their own,
wish them the best, and wait to see the outcome? Would you till your soil for a garden, plant
your seeds, and then check back after an extended period of time to harvest the
produce or view the beautiful flowers?
Would you enroll your son in Boy Scouts, give him no support or
encouragement, then wait to see the outcome?
Hopefully, you answered a resounding No
to each question above.

he leaders of
Troop 227 are parents of scouts in the troop just as you are parents of scouts
in the troop. Given the future of our
children is at stake, we have each volunteered our time and dedicated ourselves
to providing the best possible scouting program.

e know you want the
best for your son, too. This is why we encourage
each of you to take one or more of the following steps to help your son be
