Fall Camporee Results

O

n October 14-16, seven of our scouts took part in the annual Fall Camporee held at Boxwell Scout Reservation.  Members of the Dragon and Panther patrols joined forces to form a “super patrol” (the Pagan Patrol).  Through out the day the Pagans roamed around Camp Light competing against other patrols in various activities.  This year, the activities revolved around food, namely SPAM, sardines, and crackers.  Considering the challenges placed before them, the Pagans did very well nabbing a total of 5 awards!  Here are the results from the camporee:

Troop Awards

3rd Place – Top Troop

3rd Place – Uniform Inspection

Patrol Awards

2nd Place – Disappearing SPAM

3rd Place – Cracker Whistle Relay

3rd Place – Skit Competition

T

hanks to all who participated.  Way to go on the awards!  Congratulations to the SPL Will and ASPL Bryan for a fantastic job leading the troop.

Popcorn Update

Another season of popcorn selling  has finally come to a close, but first the Kernal has asked me to give a brief summary of this year’s performance.  There were a total of nine scouts in Troop 227 that were involved in selling popcorn this year.  Together they sold a whopping $5,387!  Way to go!  The top three sellers are as follows:

1st Place - Justin, $1,554

2nd Place - Will, $1,346

3rd Place - Bryan, $822

I

f you sold popcorn, your popcorn will available for pickup @ the troop meeting on Monday, 11/14/05.  All products need to be delivered and all money turned in to the Popcorn Kernal, John Hammond, by Wednesday, 12/7/05 so that the troop can receive the full 29% commission.

The Eagle Has Landed

I

have a very important announcement, ITC, excuse me (sing all you like), to make.  On Sunday, October 30, 2005, Christopher attended and successfully passed his Eagle Board of Review.  Among the five men who constituted Christopher’s board were Mr. Truman Bean, Mr. Tim Frizzell, Mr. Hank Loggins, Mr. David Deathridge, and Mr. Randall Barrett.  Christopher isn’t allowed to tell us much about his board, but we are all very proud of him and his accomplishment.  Way to go Christopher!  Next time you see him, be sure to give him your congratulations.
