Middle Tennessee Council Fall Jamboree, October 13-15

O

n Friday evening we arrived at our campsite at the Wilson County Fairgrounds, then set up camp beside Cub Pack 227.  It was very hard setting up camp, since it was so cold.  Then Will, Bryan and Logan made a fire.  Then we had a devotional.  After that, cracker barrel and jokes.  Then...lights out.  Saturday morning we woke up and had breakfast.  After that both Boy Scouts from Troop 227 and Cub

Scouts from Pack 227 departed to different activities such as: archery, hatchet throw, flaming spear throw, trebuchet pumpkin launching, Civil War era musket and cannon shooting, pillow fighting on balance beams and many more (22 in all).

A

round noon, all scouts headed back to the campsite for lunch.  After lunch, the scouts headed back to do more of the available twenty-two activities.  After that we headed back to the campsite to relax before dinner.  Some of the Scouts earned their Totin' Chip.  Then we ate dinner, and after dinner we went to a concert and slide show of pictures from Iraq.  Then we went back to the campsite and had an evening devotional and skits.  After that...lights out.  Sunday morning we woke up, had breakfast, then broke down camp.  We had our own worship service then departed for the Scout House.  Altogether we had a lot of fun.

November is Advancement Month

T

he troop goal for November is to help every Scout below First Class to advance at least one rank.  Many of the rank advancement requirements will be met during the troop’s one-night outing to Mike Apple’s farm.  Hopefully, everyone can attend.
