Fall Camporee Fun

T

roop 227 attended the Dan Beard District Fall Camporee in October and was led by Senior Patrol Leader, William Vantrease.  Most of the weekend consisted of a series of Capture the Flag games, Boy Scout-style.  Not only did each team attempt to capture the other team's flag while defending their own, each patrol attempted to capture patrol flags from the opposing team while also defending their own.  Troop 227's Crusader Patrol was on the winning Green Team and placed third overall in the Top Patrol competition.  Also, Troop 227 placed third overall in the Top Troop competition.  A good time was had by all who attended.

NAIA Pow Wow

T

wo of Troop 227’s finest Scouts, Nathan and Luke, served at the NAIA Pow Wow festival in October.  The service they rendered was much appreciated by the Pow Wow staff such that they were awarded special badges and letters of recognition.  Way to go!

Popcorn Fundraiser Results

T

roop 227 completed its fall popcorn selling fundraiser recently.  As a troop we sold a total of $4,640 worth of popcorn.  The troop’s top seller was Nathan at $842.  Second place went to Will at $776.  Third place went to Luke at $609.  We appreciate everyone who helped us with this important effort which helps us meet the financial needs of our program.

I

f you sold popcorn, your popcorn will available for pickup at the troop meeting on Monday, 11/19/07.  All products need to be delivered and all money turned in to the Popcorn Kernel Jeff Osteen, or Troop Treasurer John Hammond, by Monday, 12/3/07 so that the troop can receive the full commission.
