Popcorn Sales

What a year for Popcorn Sales!

Our total troop sales were $5846.00. We had 3 successful Òshow and sellÓ events (ask Donovan how to sell microwave popcorn!) Plus we had the following awardsÉ

á         Nathan won a Coleman Lantern from Trails End for the "Fill it Up" contest

á         3 boys earned patches from Trails End for "Fill It Up" (filling up their order form)

á         4 boys made the $600.00 Plus club (they earned a special day at a Vandy Black and Gold game this coming spring).

AND we will earn the top % of return possible on our sales. Way to go guys! And thanks so much to Mindy Reid for being our Popcorn ÒKernelÓ this year! She will deliver our popcorn at the meeting on Nov. 17th. All money is due by December 1st.

Spotlight on a Scout

ItÕs been a while since our last spotlight. WeÕll periodically focus on a scout so we can learn more about each other. This month our spotlight is on:

Cedars of Lebanon

Our next outing is the camp out at Cedars of Lebanon State Park from Friday, Nov. 14th - Sunday, Nov. 16th. We'll be touring the Stones River National Battlefield in Murfreesboro. The cost is $15 per scout or $25 per family. John Hammond is collecting from those who are going. Deadline for payment is Monday, Nov. 10th.

American Indian PowWow

On Saturday, October 18th, Thomas volunteered to help at this year's American Indian PowWow at Long Hunter State Park. Tribes from several states came to Nashville to showcase their cultural talents in music and in ceremonial dances. Many Indian hand crafted items were sold such as moccasins, dream catchers, musical instruments, and art work. We're proud of Thomas representing Troop 227 at this event!

Honors

Paden, our senior patrol leader has been selected to the All State Freshman Chorus. Congratulations Paden!  We're proud of you!

When one of our scouts earns the rank of Eagle Scout, we rejoice. When two of our scouts earn this prestigious rank on the same day, words cannot express the pride and excitement everyone has for these two young men. If you have not done so, be sure to congratulate William and Caleb for earning the highest rank in Scouting!
