Music & Molasses Festival

On October 15th, scouts with family members volunteered to help with this year’s Music & Molasses Festival at the Ellington Agriculture Center.  The festival draws 5,000 – 6,000 visitors each year, with proceeds benefiting the Tennessee Agriculture Museum.  The festival is a country celebration of the harvest season, with many activities such as bluegrass music, story-tellers, country cloggers, a grist mill, traditional crafts for sale, homemade cakes and pies, and pony rides.  Scouts worked with mounted police officers in helping direct traffic, which maximized the available parking space for guests.  The festival officials were so appreciative; a representative came to a recent troop meeting and treated everyone to delicious pizza!  Everyone had a great time!!!
