Introduction
Welcome to the ninety-third
edition of our Troop 227 Newsletter. To learn more about Boy Scouts, please
visit us at any troop activity, speak to a troop leader, or visit one of the
following websites.

At a recent Troop 227 meeting, scouts were treated to a
display and brief history of firearms in America. A local Scouter and member of
the Troop 227 Committee brought his gun collection to the scout house and
shared some interesting stories about the history of firearms. On display were
replicas of some of the older firearms from American history including a
flintlock replica. Also on display were an M1 Garand
and an M1 carbine. The scouts were also shown and allowed to handle a
black powder pistol replica as well as a 1911 Model .45 caliber pistol and a revolver.
Needless to say, the visit and opportunity to learn more about firearms was
much appreciated by all the scouts.
